Woodcraft and Indian Lore Reviews
wonderful illustrations, thourough information on US and Canadian maltreatment of First Nation's Peoples during the 'Century of dishonour', great instructions for living in the woods and off the land.
This book was written at a time when men were real men and the women were glad of it. Not like today when most men have become feminized and the women are acting like men. I love how he describes the various wilderness survival skills and Native American lore and also includes personal stories related to them. Kids need to be taken off the video games and internet and be made to read some good books that will develop them as people of honor and discipline who will but God, country and their fellow man first. Besides the Bible, books and curriculum like this are desperately needed for today`s world and generation which is going down the toilet fast due to cheap and empty role models like slutty cyrus and kim kar trashian and idiot politicians who act more like rockstars. This book will give you all of that and besides it`s extremely fun and interesting with many skills that will make you more self sufficient and resourceful at a time when those kind of skills are going to be needed because we all know that the brown stuff is going to hit the fan soon.
Seton lived, ate, hunted, and drew among Native North Americans, learned their language, and studied their lore. His observations of animal lives surpass any others, as he saw them and observed them as living beings, not just as scientific objects.
This was an interesting trip back in time . It is very informative for anyone interested in the outdoors and very entertaining with regards to woodcraft . It has first rate descriptions of flora and fauna , and descritpions of basic usage . He also provides a lot of entertaining Indian History . Ernest Thompson Seton was apparently very enamored of Native Americans , and it shows . I would recommend overall for anyone interested in outdoor life.
This book is a great addition to any outdoors library. They don't make books like this any more! All boy scouts should have a copy.
I bought this book to help my son and other boy scouts with different projects. I would recommend this book.
