The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club Part III: Saint Patrick's Day (English Edition) Reviews
There are so many mistakes in the logic and in the facts, that we could not enjoy the book.We also did not like the author's style, he describes the characters in a long and repetitive way as if he considers his readers too stupid to understand the first time. This made reading rather tedious for us.The story is too obvious, there is really no tension, as one is not inclined to like or identify with any of the flat, though revolting characters.
This is the third book in the enchanting series, “The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club”. I've read the first two books and thoroughly enjoyed them. Although I'm sad to see this series end, I was excited to see where author Duncan Whitehead would take the characters.Set around St. Patrick's Day, a very popular event in their area, the ladies in the walking club are going about their business. They are trying to get a new member to join their exclusive club and are attempting to ensure the park where they walk their dogs isn't overrun.Unbeknownst to them there is a hitman in town who has been hired to kill someone. As in the first two books this one is full of plot twists, secrets, and revenge. I loved it!
I have read the Gordonson Ladies Dog Walking Club books and enjoyed them. Part lll Saint Patrick’s Day has been just as enjoyable as the first two. It starts off pretty exciting before the story backtrack and you get to know each of the colorful characters better. Each of them have their own agenda for revenge and a reason for their envy that leads up to some unexpected situation. The author has very cleverly written some unforeseen twists and schemes into the story. This is a very entertaining book that keeps you wanting to continue to read to find out the ending.
Saint Patrick’s Day is an excellent, mystery thriller, the plot was well conceived and kept you going with the action. It had me guessing all the way, and was not boring and predictable, it had mysteries and secrets that will have you guessing. The story is set in Savanna and started off as what appears to be a standard crime novel, but as the chapters progress, it evolves into something much more unexpected. The author has a unique style that I found refreshing. His individual style really stands out.
Having lived in Savannah I always love reading books that take place in this fascinating city. This book does not disappoint. In fact, it’s probably the best book set in Savannah that I’ve read since “the book”- Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The writing is perfect for this story, and many of the intense scenes remind me of James Patterson and Lee Child. The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club Part III - Saint Patrick's Day - is rich with international intrigue and dark humor couched in a cozy mystery that you will love.
